Most WCSULSB members can be reached by e-mail through first class -- -------@wcsu46.org
Members and phone numbers can be reached below.  Note school assignments - Please work with the board member assigned to your school.

Criminal Record Check (CRC) - ?? Who needs to have a Criminal Record Check?? Any educator who is up for renewal this year (2010) who has not previously had a CRC to date will need to complete this process.  This will most likely be educators who received their initial license prior to July 1998!!

If you are interested in getting a RETIRED TEACHERS CERTIFICATE -- you may get the necessary packet from the VT.  Dept. of Ed.
--In order to qualify for the Retired Educator License you need to document 45 hours of Professional Development (PD) per endorsement in the three years prior to applying for the Retired Ed License.  15 of the 45 hours need to align with the knowledge and performance standards of each endorsement you wish to maintain on your Retired Educator License.
--You do not need to write an IPDP or present a portfolio for the Retired License.
--The cost of the Retired License is the same as a Level II - $280.
-- A Retired Educator License may only be renewed once - making it valid for a total of 14 years (two 7 year cycles).
--To renew the Retired Ed License - the PD (45 hours/15 specific per endorsement)need to be within three (3) years of renewing.

Workshop:
Re-Licensure Workshop -- Scheduled for September 30th, 2010, at 3:15 at Townshend Elementary School.

Reminders:

Packets from the Department of Education were mailed out in early October.  If you were expecting one and did not receive it, please call or e-mail the Department of Education and they will mail you a change of address/name form.  Usually this is where the error occurs -- a new address or name!!!

Level I teachers will need to present 3 documented credits to the board in order to transition to Level II or to renew a Level I.  If you have taught for 3 years in Vermont and have been teaching in your endorsement area, you MUST move to Level II.

Portfolios and re-licensure packets are due to the WCSULSB by April 1st.
To facilitate the process be sure to review your proposed IPDP with a board member prior to submitting it AND present unsigned activity requests to the board ASAP.  This part (approving credits/activities) of the process should have been occurring over the last licensure period.  Please remember this, as it is best practice for the future.
Teachers may continue to send activity requests to the board during this time.  They will be stamped with the date they were received but will not be processed until we have complete the portfolio process with those teachers whose recertification expires this year.
Thank You.
